PSAs from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adoptuskids.org\" target=\"_blank\">AdoptUSKids<\/a>, right?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bSYUjE-FRRc?rel=0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>If you have, and if you are like us, you immediately re-imagined them from the angle of \u00a0pet adoption.<\/p>\n<p>We are all fallible; there is no such thing as a &#8220;perfect pet owner,&#8221; but we <em>do<\/em> believe there are more than enough perfect matches out there, more than enough perfect homes available for all adoptable pets.<\/p>\n<p>Coming from this belief, the question becomes: how can rescues and shelters screen potential owners to maximize chances of that &#8220;perfect match?&#8221; Where\u00a0is that\u00a0ideal middle ground between the extremes of\u00a0insulting, arbitrary\u00a0<a title=\"No Pet For You\" href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/articles\/life\/heavy_petting\/2012\/01\/animal_rescue_want_to_adopt_a_dog_or_cat_prepare_for_an_inquisition_.html\" target=\"_blank\">reasons not to allow adoptions<\/a>, and\u00a0shipping animals hundreds of miles, then\u00a0simply\u00a0<a title=\"Taking Control of Rescue Dog Trafficking in Connecticut\" href=\"http:\/\/www.naiaonline.org\/get-involved\/naia-videos\/taking-control-of-rescue-dog-trafficking-in-connecticut\" target=\"_blank\">handing them off to strangers in a parking lot<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Our hats are off to all who strive to find that balance, to all who understand that great homes come in many different varieties &#8212;
