More American Pets Are Prescribed Psychiatric Drugs\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Health\/american-pets-prescribed-psychiatric-drugs\/story?id=15525610\" target=\"_blank\">psychiatric prescriptions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So what happens as more and more\u00a0<a title=\"Three Reasons to Reconsider Spay\/Neuter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com\/three-reasons-to-reconsider-spayneuter\/\" target=\"_blank\">new information is uncovered<\/a>\u00a0that says spaying and neutering animals may <em>not<\/em> be the best way to ensure the longest and healthiest life possible? What are responsible pet owners to do when this cognitive dissonance has been foisted upon them?<\/p>\n<p>Joint disease, cancer, and behavioral issues? <a title=\"The Old Grey Muzzle Tour 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gpmcf.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ovaries might mean a\u00a0<em>longer<\/em> life for my pet<\/a>?\u00a0This does not jibe!<\/p>\n<p>This is an issue that only pops up around the edges of pet ownership right now: you generally only hear about it from people with an interest in veterinary medicine, the &#8220;granola&#8221; crowd, or trainers and agility enthusiasts with an interest in structural health.
