{"id":1851,"date":"2019-01-16T20:13:27","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T20:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/naiaonline.org\/blog\/?p=1851"},"modified":"2019-01-16T20:15:09","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T20:15:09","slug":"killing-them-with-kindness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/naiaonline.org\/blog\/animal-rights\/killing-them-with-kindness\/","title":{"rendered":"Killing Them with Kindness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No, this isn&#8217;t about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news10.com\/news\/national\/-kill-em-with-kindness-florida-man-attacks-neighbors-with-machete-named-kindness-deputies-say\/1704022048\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that guy with the machete<\/a>, but another, somewhat less viral (but more pertinent to NAIA) story.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vindy.com\/news\/2019\/jan\/15\/ohio-man-arrested-after-releasing-15-racehorses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio man declared to police that 15 racehorses wanted to be &#8220;free,&#8221; after releasing them from their stables<\/a>. Sadly, one of these poor &#8220;liberated&#8221; horses fell through the ice over Meyers Lake and drowned.<\/p>\n<p>This is awful, but it also informs \u2014 because we&#8217;re not sure if you could find a more shining distillation of a specific mindset and its consequences that NAIA is fighting against.
