{"id":1378,"date":"2016-02-04T19:40:40","date_gmt":"2016-02-04T19:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/naiaonline.org\/blog\/?p=1378"},"modified":"2016-02-04T19:41:05","modified_gmt":"2016-02-04T19:41:05","slug":"ny-city-council-will-not-vote-to-restrict-carriage-horses-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/naiaonline.org\/blog\/animal-policy\/ny-city-council-will-not-vote-to-restrict-carriage-horses-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"NY City Council Will NOT Vote to Restrict Carriage Horses Tomorrow."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/02\/05\/nyregion\/horse-carriage-deal-new-york.html\" target=\"_blank\">Great news out of New York City<\/a>: the Teamsters have pulled their support for a bill\u00a0restricting carriage horses to Central Park, and there will be\u00a0<em>no vote<\/em> on it tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, Mayor Bill de Blasio shows no signs of giving up his quest to eradicate these majestic and well-cared-for animals (as well as the jobs and tourism revenue\u00a0they generate), and has said he is\u00a0looking for a &#8220;new path.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But with no vote tomorrow and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/02\/03\/nyregion\/mayor-bill-de-blasio-seeks-to-build-support-for-horse-carriage-bill-as-vote-nears.html\" target=\"_blank\">opposition to his plans only growing<\/a>, things are not looking good for de Blasio.
